Please take the time to have your say on the A82 active travel improvements project in Inverness.
BEAR Scotland is carrying out an engagement exercise on behalf of Transport Scotland to understand where we can improve the experience and perceived safety of all ages and abilities, walking, wheeling, and cycling on the A82 between Telford Road Roundabout and Longman Roundabout. As well as road safety concerns, we are also looking for comments regarding how and where the facilities on the A82 within the study area can be improved to promote active travel within Inverness.
A previous consultation was held in August 2018 and projects have been carried out on the single carriageway section of the A82, including two new signal controlled pedestrian crossings. A complete junction upgrade at the Kenneth Street and Tomnahurich Street Junction, designed to improve pedestrian mobility is currently underway and is due to be completed in the coming months.
Due to the complexity of the dual carriageway section of the A82 through Inverness we would like to involve the local community as early as possible in this investigation to ensure we understand and identify the concerns of local road users and their aspirations for this section of the trunk road network. This will allow us to develop schemes which reflect the needs of local users in the locations where people experience the greatest issues and have identified where improvements should be made.
We would like to invite you to leave a comment using the Commonplace interactive map using the link below.
